Location

A security consultancy based in Toronto.

CyberArc is based in Toronto, Ontario. It is the trade name of 17750692 Canada Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation, founded by Yathavan Gopalakrishnan.

Security testing is largely remote work, so being local is not a technical advantage. It is a legal and practical one, and those turn out to matter more than proximity.

Why a Canadian supplier is simpler

An engagement means handing a third party access to your systems and, often, your data. Doing that across a border adds questions: which law governs the agreement, where the data sits, and whether a foreign authority can compel its disclosure.

A Canadian corporation contracting with a Canadian client removes that layer. The agreement is under Canadian law and the data handling question has a shorter answer. For regulated organizations this is frequently the deciding factor rather than a preference.

What the Toronto client base actually looks like

The city's economy concentrates in the sectors where security testing is a procurement requirement rather than an optional upgrade: financial services, healthcare and digital health, and a dense software and AI sector.

Each brings a different obligation. Financial services brings PCI DSS where card data is handled. Healthcare brings PHIPA, which is Ontario legislation with a statutory security duty. Software companies bring SOC 2 because their enterprise customers ask for it.

  • Financial services and payments, where PCI DSS Requirement 11.4 applies to card data
  • Healthcare and digital health, governed by Ontario's PHIPA
  • Software and SaaS, where SOC 2 drives the testing timeline
  • AI products and agents, where buyers now ask what the agent can reach

How an engagement starts

The same way regardless of where you are. A scoping call establishes what will be tested and what will not, then a signed agreement and written rules of engagement, then testing inside that written scope.

Scoping calls happen remotely, which is usually what clients prefer. Being in the same city means an in-person session is possible when a procurement or compliance process asks for it.

What CyberArc does

Three services: authorized penetration testing of web applications, APIs and networks; vulnerability assessments across the systems you put in scope; and AI and agent security, covering prompt injection testing and review of MCP server and tool permissions.

Every engagement delivers a written report with findings ranked by severity, remediation steps, and one retest once the fixes are in.

Questions

Where is CyberArc based?
Toronto, Ontario. CyberArc is the trade name of 17750692 Canada Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation.
Do you only work with clients in Toronto?
No. Security testing is largely remote work and the engagement process is the same regardless of location. Being Toronto-based mainly simplifies the contractual and data-handling questions for Canadian clients.
Can we meet in person for scoping?
Yes, for clients in the Toronto area. Most scoping calls happen remotely because that is what clients prefer, but an in-person session is available where a procurement or compliance process calls for one.
